COCOON PORTUGAL

Cocoon Portugal is a 275-acre coastal farm + retreat, offering inspiration + community for the modern traveller. It’s also pure magic, where between the oversized hammocks and the freshwater lake, you’ll start to lose track of time. The kind of place where each morning is a celebration, practicing under the canopy of old growth pines, but so is each evening, with world class wine and fascinating dinner conversation.

We’re situated on the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the Alentejo region, which is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline and charming white-washed villages. From Lisbon, we’re about two hours drive south, entirely dependent on how many espressos you’ve had. (from Faro, we’re slightly closer) The ocean, with bluffs, trails, and sandy coves, is a 10-15 minutes drive, or a lovely bike ride.

Your Host: Anna Haddad

IN SEARCH OF BALANCE WHILE WORKING ON WALL STREET AND TRAINING FOR HER BLACK BELT IN TAE KWON-DO, ANNA HADDAD FOUND HER ESCAPE IN YOGA.

Although she has always enjoyed various athletic pursuits, including participating in marathons, tennis, and triathlons, it was her deep love for yoga that gave her the courage to leave her life as a hedge fund executive and follow her dreams of becoming a yoga instructor and entrepreneur.

After receiving her yoga teaching certification at Pure Yoga, she became further rooted in the yoga world as the cofounder of her first startup, an urban-inspired yoga clothing line based in NYC. Driven by her purposeful calling of making yoga accessible and a life long practice, Anna discovered a passion for building brands rooted in community, creativity, and connectivity. With that in mind, she cofounded her second startup, BYoga, a dynamic vinyasa yoga studio in Montauk, NY, that helps others tap into yoga’s powerful and transformative influence. There, in addition to sharing her love of yoga as a teacher, she creates intelligent sequences set to thoughtfully curated playlists to empower, uplift, and bring positive, healing vibrations to each and every class.

Always looking to take her practice to the next level, Anna has studied at Woom Center and Yoga Vida. In addition to BYoga, she also teaches at Yoga Vida, Equinox Sports Club, and Lululemon, as well as one-on-one private sessions, corporate functions, and women’s networking events. Deeply passionate about connecting with students, community-based organizations, charities, and femaleowned businesses, she is focused on creating positive and memorable experiences through yoga and stoking the fire that lives inside us all to fulfill our purpose and encourage one another to live our dreams.

Your Host: Rebecca Hajek

Attracted to yoga’s physical benefits, Rebecca began practicing about ten years ago. As her practice deepened, with time, whe discovered an overflow of benefits from her daily practice that were not only physical, but also spiritual. Rebecca has over 500+ hours of teacher training and count Yogi Charu, Scott Harig, Maty Ezraty, and Sri Dharma Mittra as some of her teachers. Inspired by many different types of yoga, she strives to artfully weave elements of each into her creative and dynamic sequences. As a former opera singer with a Master of Music from SUNY Purchase, she takes her love of music and integrate it into her diverse playlists in class. Moreover, she challenges her students to push through mental and physical boundaries in order to reach their true potential. By cultivating this strength and awareness, the true healing can begin both on and off the mat–where the most important yoga happens.
