While strengthening my body, my brain became calmer and the usual drama of the musical theatre world stopped being so important. Yoga allowed me to stay sane in an insane industry for 15 years.
How did yoga find you? I was performing on Broadway and my physical therapist suggested some cross training to prevent injury. Being 100% gym adverse, I stumbled into a Baptiste class and the rest is history. While strengthening my body, my brain became calmer and the usual drama of the musical theatre world stopped being so important. Yoga allowed me to stay sane in an insane industry for 15 years.

Explain your teaching style in three words. Rhythmic, Free-spirited, and Creative.
If you were a yoga pose, what pose would you be and why? Hanumanasana. Or the splits! Hanuman was a man who leapt all the way from southern India to the Himalayas. He did so out of devotion and love. A mighty leap, it shows that when you have love and devotion in your actions, you can achieve the impossible. Plus its an awesome party trick!
What’s your favorite song to flow to? Beast Of Burden, Rolling Stones.
Where would we find you on a Saturday night? Dinner and dancing, or a sound bath meditation!
What’s your favorite word that starts with the letter B? BALANCE. Wait… I want two… BRAVERY.
If your best friend were to write a book about you, what would it be called? Everything I Learned in Life I Learned in The Women’s Ensemble Dressing Room. OR The Showgirl Yogi: One Woman’s Journey From Sequins to Savasana.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Broadway performer. I feel so lucky to have achieved that dream and inspire other little girls to do the same!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the water? SURF. And make out. And make out on a surfboard.
What are your thoughts on rosé? Wolffer Wine Stand at sunset with a bottle of their rose (my FAV), rolling down the grassy hill with the kids, and cuddling on a blanket. Perfect summer night.
Aside from teaching yoga at our Hive, what drew you to Montauk and what do you love most about the East End?
I️ noticed there was a lack of options for yoga when I️ would go and visit. I’m a surfer and a beach girl at heart, so I️ already loved Montauk! I️ also think that a yoga studio is a beautiful place to bring community and people together. We were excited to come in and do something to make everyone feel a part of something and on the same level. And I️ can’t lie and say that Naturally Good and Crow’s Nest weren’t a big part of the decision. 😉
Why do you think yoga is an essential part of our Montauk / Hamptons community?
I️ think yoga is an essential part of any community, as it is such a connector. Montauk is especially in need of it, not just for the reasons listed above, but also because our surf community needs something to keep them paddling out the entire season. Surfing and yoga just go hand in hand!
